2022 Volkswagen ID.5 Owner's Manual
Volkswagen ID.5 is an electric coupe crossover from a German manufacturer. In fact, the model is just a coupe-like version of the Volkswagen ID.4 crossover. It is built on the same platform as its main classmate Audi Q4 e-tron. But ID.5 still shows a kind of independence.
The base battery, which had a capacity of 52 kWh, was in the previous version of the ID.4 is no longer provided. This was done for image reasons. Now the new model has an electric motor with a capacity of 77 kWh. And now only 3 motors are provided in the range of engines. The base variant is rear-wheel drive only, and the electric motor is capable of generating 174 horsepower. In top modifications, the generated power reaches 204 horsepower. The range of this car is quite decent – on a single charge it can travel 520 kilometers. The maximum speed that the car can develop is slightly limited to 160 km. /hour. But the most advanced model has 299 horsepower. Its acceleration to 100 km / h is a good indicator for electric cars – 6.3 seconds. All this is due to the combined power of two electric motors. True, the cruising range is slightly less here – 480 km. on one charge.
Compared to the previous version, the Volkswagen ID.5 has slightly reduced space for rear passengers. This happened due to the fact that the roof is slightly understated. Now passengers up to 180 centimeters tall can feel comfortable in the car. Perhaps this is the main drawback of the “new” from Volkswagen. Also, the volume of the luggage compartment has slightly decreased, compared with the previous model – now it is 549 liters, and with the rear seats unfolded, 1561 liters. The multimedia system has the latest software version. It is assumed that after some time it will be able to install the owners of other ID models. This can be done over the air.
The price of the novelty will start at 47,400 thousand dollars, which is 2,500 more than the previous “full-platform” relatives.
The main competitor can be considered the Aiways U5 electric crossover.
