The production version of the Volkswagen ID.7 was shown in China
Patent photos of the Volkswagen ID.7 have been leaked to the Internet. The D-class electric sedan will be presented on 18 April at the Shanghai Motor Show. This is reported by CarNewsChina.
The new Volkswagen ID.7 is a production version of the ID.Aero concept car. It will be the successor to the VW Passat sedan, as it has already been discontinued, and the new generation of the popular model will be offered exclusively in a station wagon body.
The Volkswagen ID.7 electric car visually differs little from its own prototype. It has a streamlined design with a sloping arched roof and a high window line. The slanted headlamps are connected by a diode insert, and the lights stretch across the entire width of the body.
The new Volkswagen ID.7 is based on the MEV electric platform. Its dimensions are slightly larger than the Passat.
Dimensions of the Volkswagen ID.7:
length – 4956 mm;
width – 1862 mm;
height – 1537 mm;
wheelbase – 2965 mm;
weight – 2122 kg.
The interior of the Volkswagen ID.7 was shown earlier in official photos. It is known that the sedan will have a narrow virtual dashboard, a large 15-inch touchscreen and a projection on the windscreen with augmented reality.
The sedan will debut with a 204 hp rear-wheel drive version with an 82 kWh battery. Its top speed will be limited to 155 km/h, and the range will reach 700 km. The price of the Volkswagen ID.7 will be around $55,000.
