Volkswagen ID. Buzz: Euro NCAP test

The authoritative agency Euro NCAP for almost a quarter of a century conducts research of passive and active safety of cars. This time, the experts got their hands on an electric minivan Volkswagen ID. Buzz.

Electric car was subjected to a number of tests, through which checked the safety of the driver and passengers, pedestrian protection, side and front overlap, rollover resistance, roof strength and evasion of a frontal collision. It passed all of these tests without much criticism.

In the adult occupant protection category, the ID. Buzz scored 92%, and child passenger safety was rated 87%. For the safety of pedestrians and cyclists experts Euro NCAP gave the electric car 60%. These figures brought the tested model the highest score and five stars from the experts of the agency.

It is noted that tests were subjected to VW ID. Buzz with one electric motor installed on the rear axle, which produces 201 hp of power. The motor is powered by 72 kWh battery. During the tests the curb weight of the minivan was 2,384 kg.
